Attitude is Gratitude

Posted Elizabeth Miller Deep Thoughts

During the Whole Life Challenge, participants were tasked with coming up with 3 things they were grateful for within one hour of waking up.

Simple instructions:

  1. Upon waking, create a mental list of things for which you are grateful.
  2. The list can be as long or as short as you like. We recommend finding at least three things.
  3. You should give yourself credit for this only if you do it within an hour of waking.*

Seems simple enough, right? This simple task had a tremendous affect on the attitude’s of those participating in the challenge. The daily reflections went from, “I am actually dying” “These headaches will not go away” “I am dying for a blizzard” to “I am grateful for time with my family” “I feel grateful to have such a great support system” “I feel grateful for this delicious food”

It was a beautiful domino effect of people supporting each other and recognizing all of the great things that this world has to offer. Not only were people generating their own personal happiness by intentionally seeking things they were grateful for, but they generated happiness among others they were around.

We challenge you to try this. Practice setting your own mood and energy. Take control over your happiness.

Let us know how it goes!
